Hopefully it’s not a secret that chips aren’t the healthiest of options, as they are usually deep-fried. That’s why we want to show you how to make perfectly crisp baked tortilla chips. That’s right, BAKED tortilla chips that taste as good or better than any fried chip out there.

Our easy baked tortilla chip recipe only requires a few simple ingredients. The right oven temperature, baking time, and seasoning will make all the difference.

What seasoning should I put on homemade chips? That’s an important question. If you don’t know exactly what you like, you can’t go wrong with a little sea salt. However, if you are looking for a little extra flavor, we have a great way to add a hint of lime and tasty spice to your baked tortilla chips.

Ingredients:

4 Yellow Corn Tortillas

2 TBSP Olive Oil

1 TBSP Fresh Lime Juice

Spice Mix

–      ¼ tsp Sea Salt

–      ¼ tsp Cumin

–      ¼ tsp Paprika

–      ¼ tsp Garlic Powder

–      Small Pinch of Sugar

Directions:

1. Pre-heat oven to 350°

2. Combine olive oil and lime juice in a small bowl.

3. Lightly brush the oil/lime mixture onto both sides of each corn tortilla.

4. Stack the tortillas and cut into quarters.

5. Spread each chip out onto a non stick baking sheet. (leave a little room between each)

6. Sprinkle seasoning mix onto the side of the chips facing up. (Season to taste)

7. Bake at 350° 8 mins

8. Rotate baking sheet. 8-9 more minutes. (Until lightly brown on edges)

9. Take out of oven and let cool.

The chips will crisp more as they cool but every oven is different so gauge the crispiness closely and add or subtract time depending on desired crisp.
