An Interview With Paizley Laura - Viral TikToker and Founder Of Peach Honey (The Newest Wave In Self-Care)

If your algorithm has any sense of humor, then you've probably been served one of Paizley's videos on tiktok. She's the inner monologue of every millennial woman, and hilariously articulates our first world problems around relationships, corporate America, and even politics.

Paizley, How did you get started with this whole tiktok creator thing?

-  I don’t feel like I’ve ever approached the idea of becoming a creator on TikTok with any sort of intention. Even today when people bring it up, I find myself feeling slightly shy with a tinge of imposter syndrome. I think the root of it is a love for doing bits and making people laugh, and admittedly a healthy admiration for attention. My first viral video came during Covid and I was hooked, for better or for worse. In the most humble way possible, I’m very grateful for the success of it, and genuinely enjoy yelling random thoughts into the abyss.

Viral Creator is just one line on Paizley's resume... She's also the Founder and CEO of Peach Honey - maker of small-batch *organic* cbd joints and other self care essentials. On a recent call, Paizley painted a picture for me of how someone should enjoy a CBD Joint:

How should someone work cbd joints into their routine?

- The fun news here is, there’s no wrong way to incorporate Peach Honey into your routine. Wether it’s unwinding from the day, a little reprieve in the afternoon in between calls, or a substitute to our THC cousin on the weekend, I’ve always been a big proponent of making this ritual uniquely yours. My personal favorite, is drawing myself a bath and smoking a joint while I soak. It’s a moment of stillness and phone-less time that I cherish!

CBD might be the next big wave in self care. With a myriad of proposed benefits, even just the ritual of taking a moment for yourself, sparking up, and letting cbd work its magic is something most of us could benefit from.

Transparently there's a lot of red tape around what the feds would like us to say and not say about cbd, but it's always best to take anecdotes from real experiences with the product.

What are some of the benefits that you personally feel from cbd Paizley?

- My first real connection to CBD was in a liquid form, mixed into a latte on a Saturday afternoon. When I felt this wave of relaxation wash over me I just had this moment of clarity and said “Oh, this must be what people without anxiety feel like”. I’ve been a fan ever since. I was introduced to CBD flower during Covid which ultimately led to me launching Peach Honey in September of 2020. I love smoking a joint, with Peach Honey I can still get that oral fixation and feel relaxed but still very present.

The phenomenon of virality on TikTok is something that is interesting to all of us. Short dance routines and selfie videos translating into 10s of millions of views, record deals, and A-List fame is definitely something that's reshaping career success for so many. In Paizley's case, there's no mystery for me why her content connects with so many. When we spoke, she was the same hilarious gal, using voices/accents and dropping jokes in our 1st phone call. AUTHENTICITY: we hear it everywhere, but when someone is just truly their unapologetic self on these platforms, people find it intoxicating.

What were some of your first viral-ish videos? And how did those affect your life and your career?

- My first big hit, came during Covid. It was a video about my Uncle's issues with being told what to do by the government, and I said “welcome to womanhood”. The girlies loved it and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Since then we’ve had great hits like “Everybody Wants My Data” and “Things I will no longer be doing as a 31 year old woman”. I’m genuinely in shock and a little giddy each time one takes off. Most recently a video about me wanting to be a frog instead of sending emails really resonated with people. I’m now sent at least 3-5 pieces of frog content daily and it’s my new favorite thing.

I love that I’ve found a platform that doesn’t feel like I have to be anything other than myself. There’s this veil of anonymity to it that dissolves the fear of ‘being perceived’ that typically comes with other social media platforms and I’m here for it! The community I’ve built on TikTok has allowed me to be in place where I can focus on Peach Honey full time, and creates another avenue for people to get familiar with the brand. Not to be dramatic or anything but it really has been life changing in all the best ways.

Paizley still has a tough time fully promoting her brand on social media. TikTok isn't fond of flaunting a cbd joint in your content, so Paizley has had to rely on her personal brand growing and then overflowing into her product brand. She's secured some local wholesale accounts, and personally packs up the orders that flow into her website every week.

Whats next for Peach Honey? What's coming this year, and what is the grand ambition for the future?

- There’s so many fun things in development for Peach Honey this year. I’m looking to expand the product line in to gummies and launch new pieces of merchandise to add to the gooey lifestyle. In the next couple of weeks I’ll actually be launching a dream collaboration with my friend Justine and her jewelry line, LeGold Jewelry. She’s custom designed a piece for the Peach Honey joint lovers and it might be the coolest thing I’ll ever be a part of. The main goal for Peach Honey has and always will be that it finds the people who need a little gooeyness in their lives. Also, hiring people at some point would be great as my dog Susan can’t keep winning employee of the month.. she doesn’t actually do anything.

We're bullish that cbd will be a core component of self-care in the coming years, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for Paizley and Peach Honey. A founder and creator who not only makes a product to take the edge off, but who also delivers on the be.
